Confucius Institute Punjab University and Crescent Educational Trust Sign MoU to Promote Chinese Language and Culture in Pakistan


Lahore, Pakistan – The Confucius Institute at the University of the Punjab (CIPU) and Crescent Educational Trust (CET) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Chinese language education and cultural exchange in Pakistan.

The MoU, signed by Prof. Dr. Shafiq-Ur-Rehman, Host Director of CIPU, and Ms. Rabia Najam and Ms. Sofia Qadir Khan, principals of Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, outlines a collaborative framework to enhance student engagement with Chinese culture and language.

Key initiatives include facilitating language proficiency tests (HSK, BCT, YCT), assisting with teacher recruitment, organizing cultural events, providing educator training, supporting scholarships, and coordinating summer camps in China.

Mrs. Uzma Sajid (CET) and Mr. Hafiz Abdullah Ze Hasham (CIPU) will serve as coordinators.

The MoU is valid for three years, with the option for renewal.
