PU, PGMI sign MoU for academic and research collaboration

LAHORE: (Thursday, April 16, 2026): Punjab University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PGMI/AMC/LGH to promote academic cooperation, research collaboration, and patient sample collection. In this regard a signing ceremony was held in the committee room of the undergraduate block here on Thursday. On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rehan Sadiq Shaikh, Principal AMC Prof Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Director External Linkages Prof. Dr. Yaamina Salman, faculty members from both institution and others were present. According to the details, the MoU has been signed between the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore, and PGMI/Lahore General Hospital. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in the utilization of laboratory facilities, joint research initiatives, and the sharing of expertise in health sciences. Under the agreement, both institutions will work together on various academic and research activities, including laboratory-based studies, exchange of knowledge, and capacity building. The collaboration will also facilitate the collection and analysis of patient samples for approved research purposes, ensuring adherence to ethical and institutional guidelines. The MoU emphasizes mutual cooperation in areas such as training, research development, and academic exchange programs. It will provide opportunities for faculty and students to benefit from shared resources and expertise, ultimately contributing to advancements in medical and health sciences. Representatives from both institutions expressed their commitment to strengthening institutional linkages and promoting impactful research that addresses public health challenges.
