PU to establish an Observatory for Atmosphere, Biosphere and Climate Change monitoring


LAHORE: Remote Sensing, GIS and Climatic Research Lab (RSGCRL), (National Center for GIS and Space Applications), University of the Punjab, Lahore has been graciously granted with allocation of land and procurement approvals from PU authorities for establishment of an observatory dedicated for monitoring, analyses and research of atmosphere, biosphere and climate change contributing to the key deliverables of RSGCRL. This state of the art observatory will be equipped with fixed, mobile and handheld instruments for research and analyses in the fields of atmospheric chemistry, air pollution, urban environments, atmospheric dynamics, and nexus of all these factors with climate change. The RSGCRL team is grateful to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab, for relevant approvals, and appreciates his efforts in improving research and development activities in the university.
