PU undergrad electrical engineering students have presented their research at 9th International Workshop on Soft Computing Applications (SOFA) which is hosted by UAV, Arad Romania in collaboration with IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and IEEE Romania Section. Conference was held online from Nov 27-29, 2020. Students completed their research works under the supervision of Dr. Umar Farooq and presented well during the conference, as observed from the encouraging remarks by the conference and session chairs. Special session was 'Intelligent Control of Robotics & Power Systems' which was chaired by eminent researchers from around the globe. Muhammad Umer, Muhammad Sabih, Adeel and Hamza Moazzam presented their research on fault classification in power systems. Amnah Haroon, Areesha Rahim, Hareem Siddique and Iqra Marryam presented their research on deep learning based industrial automation. Umair Butt, Dawood Imtiaz Jutt and Muhammad Hasin Butt presented their research on simpifying boolean algebraic expressions. A total of 81 papers from 37 countries were accepted and presented. Proceedings of the conference will be published in Springer Series on 'Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing'
